Title: Savor the mess! Work Displayed in Kings Cross with Kiosk N1C
Savor the mess! A collage representing certain aspects of maturation, lack of order yet organized chaos, the beauty that lies there within the non-curated ironically. A nod to social media platforms using grid systems; alluding to how a true life cannot be squeezed into these confines. "Savor the mess!" Taking a stand with collaboration and inclusion three members of the Serpentine Studios Sivney Reynoso, Victoria Moyosola and Sophia Weeblazquez have contributed work displayed in the digital mixed media collage. Featured are elements significant to each of these individuals.
The collage itself is inspired by the Hervé Télémaque: A Hopscotch of the Mind Exhibition. To mirror the experience from a viewer's perspective, which are left to form a narrative of their own accord. Resonant to this, a QR is provided for virtual comments to further the narrative and create further discussion.
Collaboration Descriptions:
Victoria Moyosola:
These hair illustrations represent cultural strength. In my culture hair is a symbol of beauty, wealth and togetherness. It has the power to bring people together while also giving others insight into where you are from.
Sivney Reynoso: Fake Rainbow
I've recently got more into singing and lyrics so I made this piece to explore the idea that everybody has a gift in this world and we all shine and burn just like the stars so I made a lyric mashup of two songs that I thought captured this.
Sophia Weeblazquez:
Displayed in a cabinet at home, each snuff bottle has a different design, from dragons to flowers and horses. They are a reminder of a family friend who has since moved back to Hong Kong from London, and also nod to tourist trinkets collected when traveling as a keepsake.
